How mercy works in RAID

Mercy is RAID’s pity system. Plarium describes it like this: after a set number of shards of one type without a champion of a given rarity, every further shard of that type adds a fixed amount to your chance, until that rarity drops. Then the chance resets to the default rate.

Each shard type has its own counters. A Legendary from a Sacred shard does nothing to your Ancient counter. Ancient and Void shards track Epic and Legendary separately, so pulling a Legendary does not reset an Epic counter that is already past 20. The increases are additive: +2% on an 8% base takes it to 10%, not 8.16%.

The game does not show your counter. That is why the calculator asks for the number of shards since your last drop of that rarity. Count from the last time you saw that rarity from that shard type.

Where the numbers come from

Base rates are official: 8% Epic and 0.5% Legendary for Ancient and Void shards, 6% Legendary for Sacred shards, doubled to 16%, 1% and 12% during x2 Summon Boosts. The Epic mercy rule (after 20 shards, +2% per shard) is Plarium’s own worked example.

Plarium does not publish the Legendary thresholds or the Primal figures. The numbers used here (Ancient and Void +5% after 200 shards, Sacred +2% after 12, Primal Legendary +1% after 75, Primal Mythical +10% after 200) are the long-standing community figures, which match large shared pull logs. We mark them “community” in the calculator and recheck them every quarter.

2x and 10x summon events

During an x2 Summon Boost the base chance of Epic and Legendary champions doubles for the boosted shard type. Plarium has not said how mercy stacks with it. The calculator assumes the doubled base plus the normal mercy increments, which is the simplest reading, and labels it as an assumption.

During an x10 event the Legendary chance is unchanged, but if you hit a Legendary, the featured champion is ten times as likely as any other. Enter the number of Legendaries in that shard’s pool to see your odds of that one champion. This assumes every other champion has equal weight.

Before you open anything, check the summoning portal. A blue glow means x2 Ancient, purple means x2 Void, and yellow means x2 Sacred or an x10 event.

RAID mercy FAQ

How many Ancient shards guarantee a Legendary in RAID?

220. Mercy starts after 200 Ancient shards without a Legendary. Each shard after that adds 5% to the 0.5% base, so the 220th shard is a certain Legendary. Void shards work the same way on a separate counter.

How many Sacred shards guarantee a Legendary?

59. After 12 Sacred shards without a Legendary, each shard adds 2% to the 6% base, which reaches 100% on the 59th shard.

How many Primal shards guarantee a Mythical?

210, using the community figures: +10% per shard after 200 Primal shards without a Mythical, on a 0.5% base. The Primal Legendary counter is separate and reaches 100% on the 174th shard.

Does pulling a Legendary reset my Epic mercy?

No. Plarium confirms that Ancient and Void shards track Epic and Legendary mercy separately. A Legendary only resets the Legendary counter for that shard type.

Does mercy carry over between shard types?

No. Every shard type has its own counters. A Legendary from a Sacred shard does not touch your Ancient or Void counters.

Can I see my mercy counter in the game?

No. Plarium says the counter is internal and not displayed, so you have to count shards yourself. The calculator saves your counters in this browser so you only need to add new pulls.

Does mercy still count during a 2x event?

Yes, shards opened during an event still advance your counter. Plarium has not documented how the doubled base and mercy combine, so the calculator shows the event curve as an assumption: doubled base plus normal increments.
