About Gatchanews
Gatchanews is an independent site for players of hero-collector RPGs. We publish news, guides, tier lists, verified codes and event timers. We are funded by advertising, never by publishers paying for coverage.
Editorial policy
How our newsroom works, where our data comes from and how articles are checked is set out in full in our editorial policy.
- Hands-on first. Writers play the games they cover. Ratings and guides are based on in-game testing, supported by community data where noted.
- Clearly dated. Every article shows when it was published and when it was last meaningfully updated.
- Named authors. Content carries a byline linked to an author profile showing their experience and other work.
- Independence. Advertisers, sponsors and partner creators have no say over what we publish or how we rank heroes. Sponsored content, if ever published, will be labelled as such.
- Credit where due. When a build, team or discovery comes from a creator or community member, we credit and link them.
How our tier lists are made
Each game's tier list is maintained by a lead writer for that game and reviewed by at least one other team member. Heroes are rated per game mode (for example boss fights, arena or dungeons) because a hero that dominates one mode can be average in another. The overall tier reflects broad usefulness for an account progressing towards endgame, assuming reasonable gear.
- We test with realistic, attainable investment rather than maxed-out whale accounts.
- Tier lists record the patch they reflect and are reviewed after every balance update.
- Movements (up, down, new) are flagged so you can see what changed.
- Disagree? Tell us — reader feedback regularly prompts re-testing.
Corrections
If we get something wrong, we fix it quickly and transparently. Factual errors are corrected in place and the article's "Updated" date changes; significant corrections are noted at the end of the article. To report an error, use the contact details below with a link to the page.
