Where our facts and game data come from, how articles are checked before publication, and how to report a mistake.

Our newsroom
Our news desk watches official sources — publisher websites, patch notes, official store pages and official social and community channels — and turns confirmed announcements into articles. Our newsroom uses AI tools for research and drafting; every story is fact-checked against its sources before publication.
How an article is made
- Research. Every claim is tied to a source. Official sources come first; reputable press is used only for context. Leaks, unreleased content and rumour aggregators are not used for news.
- Writing. Articles are written in our own words. Short quotes are attributed.
- Fact-check. A separate check verifies each factual claim against the cited sources and blocks anything unsupported, contradicted or copied.
- Publication. Routine, officially sourced news that passes every check can publish automatically. Guides and anything sensitive wait for an editor. A random sample of automatic publications is reviewed afterwards.
Every article lists the sources it was checked against.
Game data
- Hero pages only show data we can source: names and official art from publishers, and for some games stats and attributes from the current released version of the game. Where we have no sourced data, the section is left out rather than filled in.
- Codes and events come from official channels and are re-checked regularly; each shows when it was last verified.
- Tier lists are only published when backed by sourced data (community consensus and our own testing), with the version they apply to.
Independence
Gatchanews is an independent fan site. Publishers do not pay for coverage. Sponsored placements, when there are any, are clearly labelled.
