How Heroic Chest pity works

Hero Wars: Alliance has two fixed guarantees in the Heroic Chest. Every 25th opening drops a hero you do not own yet, picked at random from the heroes you are missing. Nexters is explicit that a new hero cannot drop earlier than that 25th opening.

Every 400th opening drops the grand prize. The grand prize can also come earlier by luck, and the in-game counter under it shows how many openings remain. The first grand prize is always Cleaver, a six-star Legendary. After that it is 50,000 Hero Soul Coins or a Skin+ at equal odds.

Once you own every hero available in the chest, the 25th-opening reward turns into hero upgrade resources. From team level 35 you can select a faction to raise the odds for that faction’s heroes and resources.

What the calculator can and cannot tell you

Both guarantees are deterministic, so the opening counts are exact. The chance of an early grand prize is not published, so we do not invent one. The calculator shows the guaranteed opening and leaves the early chance as “possible, odds unpublished”.

How often do you get a new hero from the Heroic Chest?

Every 25th opening is a guaranteed new hero you do not own yet. It cannot drop earlier.

How many Heroic Chests for Cleaver?

At most 400. Cleaver is always the first grand prize, guaranteed on the 400th opening, and he can drop earlier by luck.

What is the grand prize after Cleaver?

50,000 Hero Soul Coins or a Skin+ for a hero you own, at equal chance. A Skin+ also gives you the original skin.

Do free and video openings count?

Every Heroic Chest opening moves both counters, whether it is the daily free one, a video opening or paid with emeralds.
