Summoners War's Giant's Keep B10: the five-monster team that handles the Ancient Giant
One passive shapes the whole Ancient Giant fight. Here's the lineup that answers it, what drops at B10, and why Ameria's Luck changes where your Energy should go.

Giant's Keep B10 is where a Summoners War: Sky Arena account stops scraping by on whatever runes it found and starts choosing them. Build one team for it: Veromos, Belladeon, Shannon, Bernard and Darion, because that lineup answers each thing the Ancient Giant does.
Seven attacks decide how this fight feels
The boss on B10 is Water, and it withstands attacks with strong Defence. Its kit has three parts worth caring about. Rockslide hits your whole team with a fixed chance to stun for one turn. Great Earthquake is the nasty one, a big AoE that also reduces your Attack Speed. Then there's Fend Off, a passive that counterattacks immediately after the seventh attack.
That counter is why I distrust teams built on lots of small hits here. My own reasoning: the more individual attacks you throw in, the sooner you meet Fend Off, so a plan built on debuffs, damage over time and fewer enemy turns looks safer than one built on poking. Stay alive, strip Defence, slow the boss's gauge, let DoT do the slow work.
The boss-stage crystals
At B10 the two crystals are Strengthen Attack, which raises the boss's Attack Power for 3 turns, and Weaken Defense, which lowers the Defence of all enemies for 2 turns. Both are irritating. I'd still rather put every turn into the boss, and only spend a turn on a crystal if a run keeps wobbling because of the debuff it hands out.
Veromos and the four who fill his gaps
This lineup is a reliable core for the fight, and each member has a job you can state in a line:
- Veromos stuns the waves before the boss, then puts DoT on the Giant.
- Belladeon tops up allied HP and attack gauge while debuffing the boss.
- Bernard pushes your attack gauge and puts a debuff on the boss.
- Shannon raises allied defence and attack gauge, and reduces the boss's ATB.
- Darion reduces the boss's ATB and debuffs its defence.
Shannon and Darion both cut into the boss's ATB, while Belladeon, Bernard and Shannon feed your own gauge. The boss gets fewer turns and you get more. Find them on the heroes page, and check any swap against the tier list before you build around it. I wouldn't trade safety for speed on a farm you plan to leave running.
What drops, and what Ameria's Luck does to it
Rewards centre on five sets: Despair, Energy, Fatal, Blade and Swift, out of 23 rune sets in the game. Despair is the headline, a four-piece that adds a 25% stun chance to attacks. The old B12 rewards moved down when the dungeon was compressed to ten floors in v8.0.0. The new B10 dropped the rewards that originally dropped in B12. Drops are 84.3% five-star and 15.7% six-star.
Ameria's Luck lifts Legend grade drop rates by up to more than 5x, for up to 500 Energy used per day. At the highest difficulty it also removes Rare items, Unknown Scrolls and Rune crafting materials, so Giant's Keep pays out Hero and Legend Runes only. I'd take that trade daily once the team is stable. It resets at 12:00 AM server time, a defeat doesn't consume it, and it can't be stacked with Rune Set Fix, so pick one.
Don't rush the Abyssal Floor
Abyssal Floor is the harder version: enhanced boss skills and stats, Normal and Hard difficulties, no duplicate monsters and no help from a friend's or mentor's unit. Its Giant's fist slams down every 7 attacks and hits all your monsters rather than one. A notice dated 27 February 2024 announced the floor would become non-seasonal, like the remaining Cairos Dungeon floors. Leave it until B10 is boring.

FAQ
Which rune grades drop from Giant's Keep B10?
Mostly five-star runes, about 84%, with six-stars making up the remaining 15.7%.
When does Ameria's Luck refresh?
Midnight server time each day. Losing a fight doesn't use any of it up.
Can I bring a friend's monster to the Abyssal Floor?
No. Borrowed friend or mentor monsters aren't allowed there, and you also can't field two of the same monster.

Summoners War got me into gacha games and the maths kept me there: turn bars, set bonuses and the build nobody else bothers to try. These days I'm deep in Dragonheir too, where the dice give me something new to work out every season. When a patch note just says "adjusted", I want to know by how much.
