Godforge Beta 2 hero reworks overhaul Brawlers, rebuild Artemis and move Oda Nobunaga to Invoker
Fateless has shown a new batch of Godforge hero reworks, coming with Beta 2 on December 8. Many Brawlers now gain power as their health drops, Artemis gets a new kit, Oda Nobunaga becomes an Invoker, and Duels players can earn a chance to rethink their Legendary pick.
Fateless has detailed a batch of Godforge hero reworks for Beta 2, headlined by an overhaul of Brawlers, a brand-new kit for Artemis and a class switch that moves Oda Nobunaga from Brawler to Invoker. The changes arrive with Beta 2 on December 8, and the developer says more reworks are still to be shown.
The details come from a weekly video update the Godforge team posted on the Fateless news site on October 23, 2026. In it, Simon from the Fateless team runs through some of the biggest kit changes: reworked Brawlers, fully redesigned abilities, stronger passives and new ways to build teams.
Brawlers now get stronger as they get hurt
The Brawler rework is about giving the class a clearer identity. Instead of their role boiling down to absorbing hits while dealing damage, many Brawlers now grow more powerful the lower their health drops.

Fateless also singled out Pangu, Anubis, Hercules, Dracula and Enkidu for significant adjustments, with the goal of making the way they fight more interesting, more rewarding and more distinct. The post lists these five straight after the Brawler section but doesn't state each hero's class, so don't assume they are all Brawlers.
Dracula gets the most detail of the five. His updated kit leans harder into his Bleed role, with new ways to apply Bleed, activate it and cash in on the stacks. Our hero database lists Anubis as a Legendary hero.
Artemis, Oda Nobunaga, Mulan, Ymir and Sizzin
- Artemis gets an entirely new kit, adding extra attacks, execution-style damage and a link-up with Apollo.
- Oda Nobunaga switches class from Brawler to Invoker, and his new kit brings powerful team-wide buffs, extra-turn tools and fresh build options for Izumo squads.
- Mulan has reworked abilities that centre on big-hitting attacks, Vanish and stringing extra turns together.
- Ymir gets tools to manipulate enemy turn meters and Divinity.
- Sizzin blends Acid, Blaze and Bleed, using the combination to hit several enemies hard.
In our view, the Oda change is the one to watch if you have been building around Izumo.
Epic and Rare heroes are included
The reworks reach below Legendary too. Kenshin's retaliation mechanics and Hou Yi's defensive utility are part of the changes, and Mabon, Bauk and Tutankhamun all get updated kits. The post doesn't say which of these five are Epic and which are Rare.
Fateless's reasoning is that every rarity should offer more useful options, rather than the most interesting mechanics being reserved for the top tier.
Cooldowns on powerful passives and imprints
Some powerful passive and imprint effects will now come with cooldowns. Fateless says this lets its designers push those abilities further and make them more distinctive, since they will no longer go off constantly.
Godforge Duels players can change their Legendary pick
Godforge Duels is the second Godforge mini-game, a card battler that launched on October 1 with PvE (Skirmish) and PvP (Duel a Friend) modes. Its rewards include the chance to earn a free hero, a free weapon and a free imprint, each up to Legendary, plus exclusive titles that carry into Early Access.
Fateless now says Duels players can earn the chance to change the Legendary hero they previously selected. Simon also confirmed that whichever hero you lock in through Duels will carry over to Beta 2. Because so many kits are changing, Fateless suggests it may be worth reconsidering your pick ahead of the Godforge Duels event cutoff, planned for November 20.
Our advice: if your Duels pick is one of the heroes named above, check how their role is changing before you settle on it. You can browse the roster on our Godforge heroes page.
What we don't know yet
- The update gives no ability numbers, skill text or exact effects for any reworked hero.
- Apart from Oda Nobunaga moving from Brawler to Invoker, the post doesn't state which class each hero belongs to.
- It doesn't say which of Kenshin, Hou Yi, Mabon, Bauk and Tutankhamun are Epic and which are Rare.
- It doesn't explain how Duels players earn the opportunity to change their Legendary pick, and gives no time or time zone for the November 20 cutoff.
Our Godforge tier list is currently labelled Beta 1 (provisional) and was last updated on October 25, 2026, so it does not yet reflect the Beta 2 reworks.
When Beta 2 starts
According to the Beta 2 roadmap, Beta 2 is targeting December 8, 2026, with Early Access planned for Q2 2027. Beyond the hero changes, the playtest will focus on the redesigned campaign and the introduction of Pantheons and Arena. Our events calendar lists Godforge Beta 2 starting December 8, 2026.
