Dragonheir's The Undertow Approaches: Season 9 brings 9 new heroes, Mythic sets and Magichess: Realm of Strife

Dragonheir: Silent Gods has laid out its next season. An official Steam news post, "The Undertow Approaches & Magichess S4 — Feature Highlights", went up on 22 October 2026 at 10:30 UTC. It confirms that Season 9, The Undertow Approaches, brings 9 new heroes, new Mythic gear sets and realigned Elemental Affinities, alongside a fourth Magichess season called Realm of Strife.

Magichess, Dragonheir's auto-chess mode, returns for Season 4, Realm of Strife.

The official Feature Highlights post also promises seasonal rewards and free hero events, plus a PvP change for Glory Colosseum. Everything below comes from the text of that post and the official Steam announcement list. The full feature list sits in an infographic image, so we have only reported what the post spells out in words.

What's in Dragonheir Season 9

The Undertow Approaches covers the following, according to the official post:

• Realigned Elemental Affinities. The post confirms the affinities are being reworked for Season 9.
• 9 new heroes. The names are not in the post's readable text.
• New Mythic gear sets. The publisher calls them "powerful" and says they are meant to reshape battle strategy.
• Seasonal rewards and free hero events.

Magichess S4: Realm of Strife

Magichess enters its fourth season under the title Realm of Strife. The Feature Highlights post says Magichess: Realm of Strife adds brand-new heroes, bonds and talents. Which heroes, and what the new bonds and talents do, is not stated in the post text.

Glory Colosseum PvP changes

Glory Colosseum is getting what the post calls cross-server 3-team PvP. The post text does not explain the rules, so we can't yet say how matches are structured or how rewards work.

When does The Undertow Approaches start?

We have not found an official start date or time for Season 9 or Magichess S4 in any readable official text. The details may be in the infographic or the full preview posts, and we will add them once confirmed.

A press release published on Philippine site astig.ph in October 2026 says Season 9, The Undertow Approaches, is now live. The same press release says players can claim free SSR heroes by taking part in the new season. Our Dragonheir events calendar is the place to follow season events as they go up.

The Feature Highlights post came after a run of official Steam announcements previewing the season:

• "The Undertow Approaches — New Heroes Preview" (13 October)
• "The Undertow Approaches — New Sets & Artifacts Preview" (14 October)
• "Realm of Strife — Magichess S4 Preview" (15 October)
• "The Undertow Approaches — Season Preview" (20 October)

Two more followed it: "New Season, Free Rewards! — The Undertow Approaches" and "The Undertow Approaches — Event Calendar Vol. 1", both dated 23 October. Steam lists times for all of these posts (3:00am for most, 3:30am for the Event Calendar) but gives no time zone, so we are not converting them.

What we don't know yet

• The exact start date and time for Season 9 and Magichess S4.
• The names of the 9 new heroes and the Magichess S4 heroes, bonds and talents.
• The Mythic set names and effects, and the new Elemental Affinity layout.
• The Glory Colosseum rules and the details of the free hero events.
